Oliver! The Musical

Crone Middle School put on the production, "Oliver!" April 17, 19,20th.  There was so much flooding on the 18th, that school was cancelled and the show was postponed, but the show must go on. Despite schools still being closed on Friday the 19th, the kids arrived ready to knock our socks off.  I love Crone Middle School's musical director and producer.  They are amazing with what talent they pull out of these kids.  Also, our school is unique in our resources.  First, the musicals are accompanied by a live orchestra.  It's a good thing because there were some kids who couldn't keep a beat and the pit was having to play doubletime to continue accompanying the singers.  We also have access to a huge stage with 15 ft. backdrops that make it possible to have the musical in the gym with stadium seating and not in the cafeteria where it's difficult to see from the floor.  My children have had a blast participating and being a part of the productions.
Even though Evan really had his heart set on being Oliver or Dodger, he was chosen as an orphan and one of Fagin's gang.  And he would have been the tallest Oliver ever.  He accepted and fulfilled his role beautifully.  I have over 100 pictures of different faces this funny kid made.  I just think he's absolutely adorable.

He got to rally the orphans and lead them to rise up and ask for "MORE."

Is this the cutest?  Can you tell the orphan happens to be a g-i-r-l?

Nancy captivated everyone--especially Evan.  Those older women...

Awwwwww!
Proud moment at the end of the show.
