Easter

Preparing for Easter started with dying the eggs.  I think I've finally mastered this activity by forcing everyone to put on clothes that won't matter if anything is spilled AND by lining my table with newspapers.  We didn't do many fancy ones this year like glitter or pictures, but I did attempt a tie-dye egg and the rest of us got some great colors.

 We also decided to have a Primary Service Project and Easter Egg Hunt.  For the Service Project, we printed out templates for the children to color, draw, and or write jokes, pictures, stories, etc. for children in the hospital.  It's done through an organization called The Peyton Project.  Peyton was a young boy with cancer who loved receiving mail.  His parents appreciated the small gifts that were given to him to help him have a "laughing day" so they've set up this organization where children all over the world can help others have a laughing day.  I just got a Thank you card back from them and found out that the heads of the organization are also members of our church!  How fun!

 Lizzie has paired up with Ben, a darling boy who, according to her, has a crush on her.  He asked her over to watch a movie with him.  Is that the cutest ever?!

 My boys were champs helping me set up and helping the kids find the eggs.  My counselor and secretary did a phenomenal job hiding them!  It took the kids longer than we imagined to find 12 eggs/child!

 Easter morning was gorgeous and my kids looked shiny and new!

 After our kodak moment, we released the kids to find the eggs in the house (over 200!)

 After church, the girls enjoyed the sunshine by blowing bubbles and relaxing while Steve and I prepared our Easter feast.

 Of course, we HAD to have our Egg Roll.

Based on NCAA tournament, we set up brackets and had everyone participate--even Grandpa and Grandma!

 Lizzie was our winner!

She rolled against 6 other eggs and her egg never cracked!
