He's 14? How'd that happen?

My baby turned 14 years old! I seriously cannot believe I'm old enough to have a kid who is now 6'0" and who is 14 years old--old enough to go to dances, EFY, youth conference, etc. But, on the other hand, I love looking at the man Braxton is becoming. I know it bugs him, but I sometimes just have to touch him. I am stunned by how much he is growing in all aspects of his life. When I go in to his room to wake him up, I marvel at the man-child whose feet reach the end of the bed and who has hairy legs. It's so weird! This year, he got a razor with after shave for his birthday (pic above) ...and he has used it...twice!

I got him What Every Guy Should Know about Girls and What Every Girl Should Know about Guys. I read it before him and think it'll be good for him to read. Most teenage guys are clueless and need to have some things spelled out for them, right?

He also got cookies, clothes, a board game SWASHBUCKLED that he's been wanting since playing it a friend's house, and money. That money has been used on a movie Real Steel.

The biggest perk he got in being the birthday boy was on our Disney vacation. We received a button for him to wear. He received "Happy Birthday"s everywhere we went at Disneyworld. He got special desserts at the restaurants, phone calls from Goofy, his own copy of the constitution from the America exhibit at Epcot, and lots of attention from Cinderella's stepsisters. :) He milked it for all it was worth!

Braxton is an amazing, kind, responsible, hard-working young man who loves books, movies, music, games, basketball, family, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and FOOD (not in that order). He is a wonderful example to his siblings and ofttimes to his parents. He is a hard worker and earned hundreds of dollars this past year mowing 3 lawns. I am so proud of him! I hope this year treats him well! He sure deserves it!
