We had a long weekend surrounding MLK Jr. Day, which always leads me to wonder what fun thing we're going to do with the kids. Luckily, my dear friend, Kelle, had been informed of a terrific deal for Legoland and invited us to join them on their adventure. Gracias, Kelle! The items made from legos are unreal. I can't imagine the patience it takes to make something that huge!

While waiting to pay and be admitted, we got to see Albert Einstein up close. For some weird reason the theme was about brushing his teeth. I still don't get it.
Lizzie's feddish for holding hands is not only for the living, but also the inanimate.
The model of the city of Chicago was my favorite part. Details, details, details. The city changes from night to day. There are even some moving parts. It was fun to identify where we'd been (museums, parks, etc.).
So many famous people & things were waiting for us...Indiana Jones,
Giant spiders,
Darth Vader,
Hagrid,
and Obama!
This was a fun demonstration, where we were shown the process of making a lego from melting the colored plastic, putting it in a mold, and quality inspection. The kids got to push buttons to watch different machines "work" and create the legos.
There was one ride similar to Dumbo, where you can control your vertical height as you go around in circles. The faster you pedal your feet, the higher you go. Emma's giving Hailey a "five" as she goes around. Of course, Emma got in trouble for this later by the operators, but I think she felt it was worth it to cheer on Hailey who was taking a turn with and pedaling for Lizzie.
My buddy, Grant, actually wanted to go on this ride with me over his mother! It was so fun! Isn't he the cutest thing? I love being close enough with friends that we're like family! It really was fun to have the kids wanting to take turns going on the rides with different people. Grant, literally, made my day by wanting me to go with him.
This was a special class we got to take with a "master builder." Everyone was taught how to create the Sears (Willis) tower.
Braxton impressed all of the little kids in their area with his 9+ foot tower. They had a great time knocking it down! We all had a fun. The kids went on each ride 4-6 times. It was a great way to pass some time on a cold winter day-off.
