Through couponing, I had received 8 free tickets to Brookfield Zoo. Our weather was superb, so we decided to use them up. We were in bumper to bumper traffic 2 lights before we even got to the zoo. The parking attendant explained that the day we chose was a "get kids in free" day. Nice. It was PACKED! We had driven the hour and were determined to enjoy ourselves. We did have a lovely time. I did not use my coupons; thus, it did cost us 2 adult tickets (because of my man child). We'll just have to go back with grandma and grandpa.

Braxton's wingspan--impressive
The new Bear exhibit was our absolute favorite. They were so active, playing with toys, swimming in the water, etc. They have an area where you can observe the bears through plexiglass under the water. One bear was "walking" through the water right next to the glass! We were inches from him! Next to it was the new wolf exhibit. We loved watching the alpha and beta males and observe pack dynamics.
The younger 4 all ran through the splash park to refresh themselves.
This mama peafowl had 4 babies and was herding them through the bushes. So cute!
The lion roared for us and even SMILED!
Some friends invited us downtown to participate in a multi-family ABC photo scavenger hunt. I got some cute young boys in my group. They were creative and competitive. :) I got to pose for M- Mom

Naperville Nuts and Sweets candy store saved us with X-Xtreme sour straws and a Z-Zagnut.

Lizzie struck gold at the ball return. If it falls in the center hole through a pinball-type maze, you get a free round of golf.
We lost 5 teeth this summer: Carter - 2; Evan -2; and Emma -1.
Our good friend, Subash Krishnamoorthy (say that 3 times fast) and Debbie got married at the Chicago temple!
This was so exciting! The reception that night was a blast! All the food was Indian (and vegetarian). I thought it was all delicious and so fun to try. It was a great experience for the kids to try all the different dishes, hear some music, and watch a dance.
DOWNTOWN NAPERVILLE
I love the riverwalk in downtown Naperville. Lizzie loves going to Centennial Beach, playing in the sand and jumping off the sides of the pool. Emma loves the waterslide and doing handstands in the water. I love that the boys go swim and jump off the diving boards, keeping themselves busy for hours at a time. Being a member also means that you get a free pass to go for a ride at the paddle boats. This has become one of the kids' favorite summer activities. They love to chase the ducks and have races.
I got a membership to the Dupage Children's Museum the first day of school last year and have not used it enough, so I dragged all 5 to the museum. They all had a good time and left wanting more.

BOWLING
Emma has interesting form. She is so excited for the ball to hit the pins, but it takes so long for it to travel the whole length of the lane, that she does a little dance routine and entertains the crowd in the alley while she watches her ball mosey on down.

BOWLING
Everyone but Carter loves to bowl. Carter is not very good, so he hates it. In fact, he moped around and even shed a tear when Emma was beating him. A few turns later, he perked up as his score put him in the middle of the pack. What a stinker!
Evan had a great time! Strike! He has a weird ability to use the bumpers to his advantage and still get strikes and spares even though the ball has hit the bumpers 3 times down the alley.
Braxton was the best. Any score over 100 is good to me (Carter gets his skills from his mom), but Braxton always gets over 130 and wins!

Lizzie and her mom love the ramp! The ramp makes it so that she can do it herself, but her brothers and sisters LOVE to help her when she has it.
