Our time in Utah was filled with visiting family and sites. Lynette (Steve's sister) and family drove down from Rexburg, ID to spend a few days with us. We ventured over to the Church's Art Museum in Salt Lake City. This is such a fun museum and it has totally changed in the last year. I went with my family in March 2010. The children's exhibit area was totally different, but still just as interactive and fun. Here are the cousins pushing and pulling a real handcart.
This was the favorite exhibit. Two screens with videos of Mexican dancers instruct and demonstrate dances. The kids can dress up and dance along with them. So cute!

Angel Moroni is a Mormon symbol. The kids were amazed by its size, and it was even 2 feet shorter than the statue on top of the SLC temple.
After the museum, we swam and had a lovely picnic gathering with family from the Bird and the Jex side. All who lived in the SLC area were invited by Grandma Bird. We had about 50 people there. My kids had a blast with all the cousins! We are so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful family!
The next morning we got up early and headed over to Provo to hike the Y.
It's not very long, but it's all up hill. Here's the dramatized status at one of our water breaks.

After hiking back down to reconnect with Grandma, Grandpa, and the 2 littlest kiddos, we headed over to the BYU Bookstore to get our "RISE UP" t-shirts, chocolate covered cinnamon bears, and feel the spirit on campus. I loved studying on sacred ground!
After lunch in the WILK, we trekked over to Bridal Veil Falls to see more of the beauty surrounding Provo.
I LOVE waterfalls! I always wanted to come here on a date with my future husband and never did. Well, it's 15 years later and not quite the romantic experience I had pictured it being (as we're calling to the boys to not climb so high and worrying about the kids falling in); however, it was fun to see them enjoying the things that we had enjoyed as welcome distractions to our studying.
We continued on up the loop to Heber for a shake at Granny's--a classic!
Then up to Park City we drove to speed down the Alpine Slide and Roller Coaster.
